A practical first run
Switch at the corner, not before it
Paper Drift turns a folded ribbon into a short timing challenge. The car starts on a left-slanting section and moves on its own. One held input selects the right-slanting direction; releasing selects the left. There is no accelerator, drawing tool or hidden steering wheel. Your goal is to reach the checkered flag without leaving the track.
Worked example: First folds
- Choose First folds and press Start drive. Keep TURN released as you approach circle 1.
- When the car center reaches circle 1, hold TURN. Follow the right-slanting paper toward circle 2.
- At circle 2, release. Repeat hold at 3, release at 4 and hold at 5, then continue to the finish flag.
- If you fall, use Restart and try switching slightly earlier or later. No lives, coins or purchases are required to retry.
Two common mistakes
Holding from the start immediately sends the car away from the opening section. Releasing halfway along a right-slanting straight does the same. The numbered circles mark the direction changes; aim for their centers rather than rapidly tapping. On a phone, hold the dedicated green button so the surrounding page remains scrollable.
